A meeting of the Punjab State School Forum (IPDA India cell) was held on Sunday 08-03-2020 at Partap College of Education, Ludhiana under the chairmanship of Dr. Balwant Singh, Director, Partap College of Education and Chair IPDA India. Ms. Rajwinder Kaur, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Jagraon, Mr. Rajesh Khanna, Principal, Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Kasabad, Dr. Jagdev Singh Rana, Principal, GTB IMT, Dakha, Col Amarjit Singh, Principal, Senior Sec Residential School, Ludhiana, Mr. Jaspal Singh, Govt. High School, Ayali Kalan, Mr. Kuldeep Kumar and Mr. Gurkirpal Singh working as school teachers attended the meeting. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, Partap College of Education and Secretary, IPDA India welcomed all the guests and highlighted the key objectives of International Professional Development Association. She explained the role of school teachers and their professional development in strengthening the foundation of education sysytem. Reflections on Partap IPDA International Conference held on 22-23 February, 2020 were shown and discussion on poster exhibition and paper presentation based on conference theme was done.
Dr. Balwant Singh asserted that teachers and students all over the world are same and teaching is based on human relationships. To strengthen the knot of human relations, teachers need to be attentive and develop their own skills. For this, all the teaching professionals working at various private or government schools should keep abreast with latest knowledge and pedagogies.
Dr. Jagdev Singh spoke about five stages of education in an individual’s life and added that its responsibility of teachers of develop own efficiencies to contribute in holistic development of students. Ms. Rajwinder Kaur proposed to establish teacher training programs in collaboration with IPDA India which will enhance trainees’ interactions and will help to hone their skills.
