A day dedicated to the teachers, the nation builders was celebrated with all traditional sanity, reverence and ritualistic piety at Partap college of Education, Ludhiana. Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal of the college presided over the whole function. The programme started with Saraswati Vandana by Music Instructor Ms. Bhawna Handa and students followed by lightening of Lamp by Dr. Balwant Singh. After this, teacher-trainees and teacher-educators took over the stage and expressed their gratitude towards their teachers in the form of poems, songs, dances, bhajans, speeches and by sharing their personal experiences. The whole atmosphere charged with reverence and serenity for this noblest profession.

In his address, Dr Balwant Singh exhorted the teaching community to become more creative and contributory members of the society by maintaining the dignity of this noble profession and their character as nation builders. He further added that they should have a respectful attitude towards their profession and come up to the expectations of the community. They should always look, think, feel and behave like teachers to discharge their duties and responsibilities as teachers to the best of their capabilities. He wished everybody a very happy teacher’s day and enthused everybody with positive energy by saying that today they should take a pledge to embark a new journey of hope, dedication and passion for profession to justify their roles as nation builders. The function ended with cake cutting and pledge taking ceremony.
