21.10.2015
Partap College of Education, in collaboration with Sankalp Sewa Mission Society today i.e. on 21.10.2015, organized a comprehensive and thought provoking seminar on the topic ‘Traffic Rules Awareness’. The programme commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal Partap College of Education, Ludhiana. After this, S. Sukhdev Singh educated the gathering about Traffic Rules. He said that we must follow traffic rules in true sense so that we can minimize the alarming number of road accidents. Most of these accidents are a direct outcome of the civic negligence rather than lack of awareness. In order to lead a safe and secure life we need to understand the meaning and significance of different road signs and observe traffic rules. As a responsible citizen of the society, we should never drive our vehicles beyond prescribed speed limit, wear seat belts and helmets and most importantly, we should not take alcohol before driving our vehicles because with such negligence we do not only kill ourselves but also kill innocent people.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Balwant Singh said that the role of a teacher in the society is that of a social engineer who guides the society in the right manner against all its loopholes and make necessary modifications in its structure and functioning. He added that by following these small things, we can make a big difference in solving the problem of traffic and road accidents in our society. We must understand that speed thrills but kills. He hopes that if every individual starts following these rules only then the purpose of organizing such seminars can be achieved. In the end, Mr. Yogesh Soni, President Sankalp Sewa Mission Society shared his view with the gathering and expressed his firm belief that it is only by developing proper civic sense and discharging our responsibilities as responsible citizen of the society, we can create a secure and educated society. S.Gurdial Singh, Dr. Y.S. Walia, Dr. J.S. Bawa, Sh. I.S. Khanna and Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Vice Principal of the college were among the others dignitaries present on the occasion.
