PARTAP IPDA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2023

Two days XI annual “Partap International Professional Development Association (IPDA) International Conference 2023” was organised by Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, in collaboration with IPDA UK on the theme “Professional Learning in Multidimensional and Multicultural Educational Context” under the umbrella of New Education Policy, 2020. The focus was to invite deliberations, scholars and delegates from various countries like Russia, Italy, Spain, England and many states of India. Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Gobindgarh was the special invitee as chief guest to preside over the inaugural session of the conference.
Ms. Balwinder Kaur, Assist. Prof. in the opening dialogue introduced IPDA, UK and other international linkages of the college. Prof. Radif R. Zamaletdinov, director, Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, Kazan Federal University, Kazan, Russia presented welcome address and acknowledged the significance of such international events in promoting professional development and developing internationalised insight.
Dr Manpreet Kaur, Principal, PCE gracefully extended a warm welcome to the delegates, guests and all the attendees. Prof. Balwant Singh, Chair, IPDA India acquainted the audience with theme of the conference and cautioned the teachers the need for self- monitored professional learning in this new setup to compete and survive their careers.
Prof. Roza Valeeva, Head, Institute of Psychology and Education, KFU, Russia in her keynote address expressed that present new realities indicate the emergence of new areas of pedagogics, such as STEM education, robotic engineering, migration education, neuro-pedagogics and the development of human capital for the future economy. Dr Zora Singh,Chancellor, DBU, in his presidential remarks appreciated the teacher education strategy followed in Russia.
At this grand occasion, a new venture of the institution was signing MoU between Partap College of Education, Ludhiana and Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kaliningrad, Russia and Desh Bhagat University, Gobindgarh, India. The agreements were declared in the presence of eminent scholars attending this event. Fifth edition of book “Professionalism in Education” was also released by the chief guest and eminent international scholars.
Prof. Anna O. Budarina from Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kaliningrad, Russia in her keynote address emphasised that an implementation model of anthropological approach in interactive intellectual environment has to be designed. Dr L S Bedi, Dean Academics, DBU, Gobindgarh in his presidential remarks focused on imbibing multidisciplinary approach in education system.
International scholars from Russia, Spain, Italy and various states of India presented their research reports in the form of posters and oral presentations related to the sub-themes of the conference in separate groups both in offline and online mode. All the thought-provoking presentations prompted healthy interesting discussion on the themes of the conference. A blend of various cultures was presented in the evening by college students. Folk dances from Russia and Punjabi folk songs played by Master Gurcharan Singh on the ancient folk instruments were the centre of attraction and it mesmerised the audience with its spell bound pleasure.
Second day of the Conference started with great warmth and fervour. Ms. Alka Joshi, Asst. Prof. of the college welcomed all the guests and dignitaries. Dr. Laura Sara Agrati, Associate Professor, University of Bergamo, Italy presented keynote on hyper-complex class room scenario and the skills required for teachers to manage. While presenting presidential remarks Prof. Balwant Singh, Director, PCE highlighted the importance of preparing the teachers for the super diversity class room and also appreciated Italian education system to imbibe this practicum.
Prof. Juanjo Mena, Associate Prof., Head of the department of Education, University of Salamanca (USAL, Spain) enlightened the audience through his keynote address on the use of immersive learning in teacher education. He described how to use the immersive pedagogical practices especially in a remote classroom. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal of the college presented her presidential remarks and appreciated the description of five digital tools elaborated by Prof. Juanjo.
While presenting reflections on the conference, Prof. Roza A. Valeev, KFU and Prof. Anna, IKBF University, Kaliningrad, Russia appreciated the sense of hospitality of the organizers. They appreciated the efforts of the poster presenters and advised them to work on the practicum. also appreciated the endeavour of the organizers. Prof. Balwant Singh motivated all the teacher educators to work collaboratively and focus on their research work to bring forth a competent teacher’s community.
Eminent high-profile scholars and Chief Guest were honoured with stamped mementos and souvenirs with all humbleness and regards by Prof Balwant Singh, director, PCE, Ludhiana. At the end vote of thanks was proposed by college Principal, Dr Manpreet Kaur.
