About the theme

Unprecedented challenges and problems have shaken the world almost in all areas. The focus of this webinar is to know the effectiveness of online teaching learning process especially in our country. A need is felt to check the validity of all this practice.

In fact it is felt that educational process is mainly reduced to transmission of information through online modes. Use of technology was already in practice for the last many decades to help the class room teaching along with many other curriculum activities especially designed for various levels of education. But the tragedy is that main function/purpose of education has been taken out and use of technology for transmitting some information has dominated to the name of virtual teaching. A major qualitative input and output is missing. No effort was ever made to check the validity of learning in the form of academic achievement, development of other necessary skills and many essential personality traits. The utility of this education is also in doubt for producing the employability competence and work culture of the students after completing this type of education. Various stakeholders like teachers, students, parents and mangers are feeling the stress of this forced dimension especially in this diverse society.

So, a need is felt to know the views of teachers, researchers and other stakeholders for usefulness, implementation and effectiveness of the highly shouted slogan of virtual teaching. A ground reality summary is urgently needed to show the path to all concerned and policy makers. Solidarity, academic excellence and quality effects of education are most important issues to consider in this miserable times of pandemic.
