After the prolonged closure of educational institution due to COVID-19, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana initiated to combat the fear of pandemic by celebrating the festival of Basant Panchami and motivating the students to attend regular offline classes. B.Ed. and M.Ed. classes has already been started at college campus and registration for class D.El.Ed. is going on. Prospective teachers are enthusiastically participating in syllabus as well as syllabus-based activities. In this episode, the festival of Basant Panchami was celebrated at college with great zeal and festive fervour. All the students and faculty, wearing colourful costumes, participated enthusiastically in this Basant Panchami festival celebrated with the aim of making everyone aware of the history and importance of the day.
Today’s program started by seeking blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Prof. Balwant Singh, Director of the college and Principal Dr Manpreet Kaur lit the lamp and worshipped the goddess. The celebration began with welcome address presented by Mrs. Poonam Bala, Assistant Professor of the college. Nandini, student of B.Ed. -1st semester presented speech on the importance of Basant Panchami and the historical background of this festival. Then, Pallavi and Naina, students of B.Ed. -1st presented dance.
Dr. Manpreet Kaur released the book “Jivan Ke Rang” written by Mrs. Poonam Bala on this pious occasion. Arshdeep Kaur, Shivani and Nancy also exhibited their devotion through their musical performance.
Dr. Manpreet Kaur congratulated everyone for the successful celebration of Basant and wished the future teachers to have bright future. At the end, Mrs. Baisakhi Banerjee thanked all the attendees.
