INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR

Partap College of Education, Ludhiana organised an international webinar in collaboration with Kazan Federal University, Kazan, Russia on 15-12-2021 under worthy guidance and expert supervision of Prof. Balwant Singh, Director and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, Partap College. The main theme for the webinar was “A Model of an Exemplary Teacher for the VUCA World (the World of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity)”. The focus of the webinar was to develop internationalised perspectives and strengthen the understanding of educational systems prevalent at two countries through interaction of prospective teachers. 

The webinar commenced with inaugural dialogue presented by Iskander Yarmakeev, Deputy Director, Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, K.F.U., Kazan, Russia. Prof. Tatiana S. Pimenova and Prof.  Albina R. Abdrafikova from K.F.U. and Ms. Balwinder Kaur, Asst. Prof., Partap College acted as moderators. M.Ed. students, Jasleen Kaur and Sonia Pruthi from Partap College and Robbie, Julia and Alsu Nasyrova from K.F.U. presented their views on the given theme. After the presentations, the students and teachers participated in debate on the theme and touched upon the topics like- What makes the teacher “Teacher”? How does the exemplary teacher differ from anyone else? How to become an exemplary teacher for the world of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity? Who decides that the teacher is exemplary? and portrait of a teacher for school 4.0.

Prof. Balwant Singh presented the presidential remarks and congratulated all the presenters and appreciated the efforts of the organisers. He asserted that teachers act as mentors and facilitate the learning of students so, it is the responsibility of the teacher training institutes to prepare future teachers for school 4.0 (futuristic schools) by bringing the technology embedded curriculum in practice. He also proposed to organise such intellectual interactive sessions quite frequently. Dr. Manpreet Kaur asserted that live webinars provide interactivity or the ability to discuss, send and receive information on the relevant topic in real-time for both presenters and attendees. Such events are conducive to develop the global outlook among students and provide a platform to improve their skills. The webinar was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Tatiana.
