At Partap College of Education, Ludhiana a multidimensional orientation cum extension lecture was organised to boost the morale of students and staff so that they can quickly go to the reconciliation mode for their recovery of loss incurred during Covid shutdown.

Principal, Dr. Manpreet Kaur welcomed the guests and all present. She motivated the students to  be regular to enhance their teaching skills and fill the learning gap. Director, Prof. Balwant Singh highlighted the inter connected parameters of Covid pandemic which have broken the normal chain of life. A damaging attitude of students and parents about non attending mode of education which is throwing out ‘educated unemployable youth with fake genuine degrees’ in the society which is a matter of great shame for all of us. Prof. Singh gave illustrations on the glory of teaching profession from his own experience to bring back the same rhythm of study, training, teaching, leaning and skill development. He also sighted the great hymns from Gurbani and for its logical insight. Students and staff recited the holy path of shri Sukhmani sahib. Religious discourse was illuminating to know the seasonal importance of this month of sawan (rainy season). Prof. Singh brought this concept of revival of nature after long span of scorching heat to again grow by forgetting the problems of draught and heat. The students and teachers pledged to work hard after this compelling shutdown for the welfare of their families, society and nation at large. ‘Guru ka langar’ was served. The students of the college also organised a beautiful cultural program which was enthusiastically instrumental in retuning and reviving the youth to the main steam. The event ended with vote of thanks extended by Ms. Balwinder Kaur, Asst. Prof of the college.

19th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

Partap college of Education, Ludhiana, celebrated its 19th Annual Sports meet amid great enthusiasm in the college campus on 14th March, 2019. The chief guest was Prof. J.P. Singh (Chairman, Partap Charitable Trust). Other guests of honour were Dr. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal (Finance Secretary, Partap College of Education) and Major Jagjit Singh Thandi.
At the very onset the flag was hoisted and the colorful balloons were released. March Past and P.T. were performed by the students of different houses (Ravi, Beas, Chenab, Satluj, and Jhelum). All the participants took oath under the leadership of Ms Pallavi, B.Ed 4th semester student. The oath taking ceremony filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of true sportsmanship and unity.

 
The chief guest in his speech encouraged the athletes to develop the spirit of leadership and team work under fair play. Thereafter he declared the 19th annual sports meet of Partap College of Education Open. He mentioned the importance of sports and told that these athletic activities are very important for physical and emotional growth of an individual.
The students participated in athletic events, i.e. long jump, javelin throw, shot-put, discuss throw, 100m, 200m, Relay race, Badminton, and Recreational games (spoon race, 3 legged race, tug of war, partner balloon race) with boundless zeal and enthusiasm.
Prof. J.P. Singh presided over the closing ceremony of this event. He gave away the prizes and congratulated the winners. He encouraged the students and told them about the importance of athletic activities. He motivated the students for the betterment of civic responsibilities. Cultural show by the students mesmerized the audience.
Ms. Anamika Priya, B.Ed, 2nd semester, was adjudged the best athlete among girls and awarded with “Smt. Jagbir Kaur Grewal Yaadgiri Sarvotam Award.” Aishwarya, B.Ed, 4th semester secured the position of runner-up. Among the boys Mr. Navdeep Singh, B.Ed, 2nd semester, was declared the best athlete. Beas house was rewarded the best house in March Past among five houses. In the closing ceremony, the sports meet was declared closed by Dr. Balwant Singh Principal, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana.

The weeklong Yoga Camp organised since June 14, 2018 in Partap College of Education, Ludhiana concluded to-day (21/06/2018) with the celebration of the 4th International Day of Yoga. Students and the members of staff enthusiastically participated in the event. Various Yoga Asans and Pranayams were performed under the guidance and supervision of Asst. Profs. Mr. Ram Paul and Mr. Dharam Singh. The concluding day was marked with spirited and motivating lectures from various speakers disseminating the benefits and importance of  Yoga. Eulogizing the importance of Yoga in life, Principal Dr. Balwant Singh exhorted the participants to make it an integral part of their lives. Vice Principal Dr. Manpreet Kaur envisioned Yoga as the only means to fulfil the educational objectives of all the three domains, especially of the affective domain, “The pandemonium prevailing in our value system can only be rectified by making Yoga a way of life,” she asserted.

In the end, Dr. Balwant Singh felicitated the students and gave away the ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ to them for participating in the event in an exceptionally enthusiastic and spirited way. Curtain fell on the festive event with vote of thanks to the audience by Dr. Manpreet Kaur.

Medical and Dental Camp https://partapcollege.org/medical-and-dental-camp/ Fri, 30 Mar 2018 11:38:30 +0000 http://partapcollege.org/?p=2136 In continuation of human endeavor, a free medical and dental camp was organized at Partap College of Education, Ludhiana. A team of Dr. Rajesh Arora, Senior specialist carried out a comprehensive dental checkup of students. Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal of Partap College of Education, Ludhiana was the patron of this camp. Dr. Sangeeta Sood and Mrs. Poonam Bala organized the camp.

The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a patient card, a report summary of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.

The Principal of Partap College of Education, Dr. Balwant Singh and vice principal of Dr. Manpreet Kaur thanked the dental surgeon and his medical staff for rendering selfless service to the college.

Dr. Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director, Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Dr. Balwant Singh welcomed the distinguished guest with bouquet and motivated the students to participate whole heartedly in all the sports activities.

In long jump Amandeep Kaur from D.El.Ed. 1st year and Harmanjeet Singh from D.El.Ed. 1st year got 1st prize. In discuss throw Manpreet Kaur  from  B.Ed 2nd semester and Harmanjeet Singh from D.El.Ed 1st year got 1st prize.  Kiranjot Kaur from B.Ed. 4th semester and Harmanjeet Singh from D.El.Ed 1st year got 1st prize in shotput.

 

Kiranjot Kaur of class B.Ed. IVth semester was adjudged the best athlete among girls and awarded with “Smt. Jagbir Kaur Grewal Yaadgiri Sarvotam Khidaran Award.” Among boys Harmanjeet Singh class D.El.Ed. 1st year declared the best athlete. Satluj house was declared the best house in March Past among six houses. In the closing ceremony, the meet was declared closed by Prof.J.P.Singh . Dr. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal Finance Secretary of College was the guest of honour. Principal Balwinder Kaur ,Principal Ranjeet Kaur and other eminent personalities were present on this occasion. In the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Manpreet Kaur, Vice Principal of the College.

Life is a challenge and education enables us to face the challenges of life with grit and determination. Keeping in mind this, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana today i.e. 27-08-2015 organized the annual ‘Talent Hunt’ for the session 2015-16. The main objective of organizing this talent hunt was to locate the potential talent of the budding artists for the upcoming youth festival. Enthusiastic and zealous performers displayed their multi faceted talent in various spheres like dazzling folk and classical dances, melodious folk songs, soulful poem recitations and spellbound folk orchestra.

The Chief Guest, for this occasion was Dr. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal, former Principal, Govt. College for Girls, Zira (Ferozepur), who was formally welcomed by the college principal Dr. Balwant Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Balwant Singh, said, “Great things are always accomplished by talented people, who believe they can scale greater heights. Everyone has one or the other talent but what is rare, is the courage and skill to nurture it and this is where Partap College of Education has emerged as a leader in the educational arena”.

Dr. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal, alongwith Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, vice principal, PCE, Mrs. Davinder Kaur and Principal Balwinder Saini (Saini Public School) minutely performed their duties as judges and gave valuable tips and guidelines to the performers on how to polish and hone up their potential skills into best and outstanding performances at youth festival and other competitions. The whole environment got mesmerized when Pardeep Singh, Jagir Singh and Manish Bhatti played folk orchestra and Manish sang ‘Jugni’ and ‘Mirza’ in his soulful voice. Everybody got swayed with the tone and emotions of the song. The curtains fell down with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Vice Principal of the college.

Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh were resource persons in this workshop. Principals and Teachers from various colleges of Education participated in the workshop.
