भारत की स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति में अनेक महानायकों ने बहुमूल्य योगदान दिया। स्वतंत्र भारत को अखंड भारत में बदलने के लिए सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल का योगदान अविस्मरणीय है।उनके जन्मदिन (31अक्तूबर)को राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस के रूप में मनाया जा रहा है।उनके सारे जीवन तथा आज़ादी प्राप्ति से लेकर भारत की एकता और अखंडता को बनाये रखने के लिए उनके द्वारा किए गए अनथक प्रयासों को दर्शाती डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन प्रताप कालेज आफ ऐजुकेशन,लुधियाना में किया गया।

    अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद(ए आई सी टी ई) तथा विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यू जी सी ) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में इंदिरा गांधी नैशनल सैंटर फार द आर्ट्स तथा इंडियन काऊंसिल आफ हिस्टोरिकल रिसर्च द्वारा तैयार की गई इस डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी  के माध्यम से सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल के समग्र जीवन पर उनकी बाल्यकाल से लेकर मृत्युपर्यन्त तक की तस्वीरों के द्वारा विस्तार सहित प्रकाश डाला गया है।

    *सरदार पटेल:एकीकरण के शिल्पी* नामक इस डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी का मुख्य उद्देश्य अखंड भारत के लिए सरदार पटेल द्वारा जीवनपर्यन्त किये गये प्रयासों से आमजनों को परिचित करवाना है।उनके सद्प्रयासों से ही स्वतंत्र भारत अखंड भारत के रूप में सामने आया।विभिन्न रियासतों के प्रमुखों को विलय के लिए मनाने में उनका योगदान अतुलनीय है।अखंड भारत के समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करने के लिए सहमत करने में सरदार वल्लभ भाई ने अहम भूमिका निभाई।

       कालेज प्रिंसिपल डा. *मनप्रीत कौर* ने यू जी सी द्वारा ऐसे कार्यक्रम आयोजित करवाने के विचार का स्वागत किया।उन्होंने इसे एक प्रेरणादायक प्रदर्शनी बताते हुए कहा कि ऐसे आयोजनो से देश के युवा वर्ग के साथ साथ आम जनता भी स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास से परिचित होगी तथा स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद किन हालातों से दो चार होकर हमारे महानायक अखंड भारत का नक्शा बनाने में सफल रहे, यह जानकारी प्राप्त करके स्वत्रंता की सुरक्षा के लिए जागरूक होंगे।कालेज के भावी शिक्षकों ने पोस्टर बनाकर, भाषण देकर तथा कविता पढ़कर सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल के लिए अपनी भावाभिव्यक्ति की।

      इस डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन करने में सहायक रही कालेज की सहायक शिक्षिका श्रीमती *पूनम बाला* ने सभी साथी शिक्षकों तथा विद्यार्थियों को सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल के जीवन से प्रेरणा लेकर अपने जीवन में राष्ट्रीयता की भावना का विकास करने तथा  देश की उन्नति के लिए सद्कर्मों   द्वारा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

   अंत में राष्ट्रगान के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ।

The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a patient card, a report summary of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.

The Principal of Partap College of Education, Dr. Balwant Singh and vice principal of Dr. Manpreet Kaur thanked the dental surgeon and his medical staff for rendering selfless service to the college.

It was started with an orientation programme given by Mrs. Manisha Mahajan (Assistant Professor). Students participated in various activities such as essay competition, elocution contest, cleanliness of the campus and surroundings. Classroom decoration contest was also conducted as a part of the programme to check cooperation and power of expression of the students.

At the end of the programme, closing ceremony was held in which college principal Dr. Balwant Singh and Vice Principal Dr. Manpreet Kaur gave prizes and certificates to the winners of the competition. Dr. Balwant Singh emphasised on the need to practice swachatha in our life.  Simranjit Kaur, Pooja Rani and Nihita Sharma were the winners of essay contest.  Top three position holders of elocution contest are Navneet Kaur, Kashish Saini and Poja Rani. B.Ed students of Section ‘C’ bagged first position in classroom decoration contest. In the end, Ms. Sona Thakur, (Convenor) gave a vote of thanks.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

The students, their parents and grandparents, and staff of Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, participated in various activities to mark the International Day of Yoga. The college campus was abuzz with activity with students pouring in cheerfully and their beaming faces telling tales of their pursuing yoga asanas as part of their daily routine.

The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. The theme for the 2017 celebration is ‘Yoga for Health’. Keeping in view this mission and march towards a good health through yoga, the volunteers were also given knowledge about the benefits of different yoga asanas.

Yoga expert, Prof. Ram Paul, Incharge, Yoga Kendra of the college, had been training the students regularly as Yoga is a part of the curriculum as well. Students had been practicising various asanas, including Tadasana (good for increasing height of children), Pada-Hastasana (beneficial for the health of spine), Bhujangasana, Vajrasana (improves digestion); Pranayams including Bhramari Pranayama, Anuloma-Viloma Pranayama; and Suryanamskars. The programme ended in Shanti Paath. The convener of the programme was Mr. Pardeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana.

Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal, Partap College of Education congratulated the students for their active involvement in making this event a success. He also motivated to carry forward this practice and make yoga a way of life for all times to come. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the host of participants drawn from across three generations for their enthusiastic participation.

Social work is not done for any materialistic gains or pomp and show rather it is done for self-satisfaction. With this aim in mind, students of Partap College of Education, Ludhiana alongwith their teacher incharges Dr.(Mrs.) Jaya Batra and Mrs. Parveen Sharma visited Nishkaam Sewa Ashram-An old Age Home located at Pakhowal Road, Vill. Daad, Ludhiana on 7^th October, 2015. Students reached Nishkaam Sewa Ashram at 12.00 a.m. and stayed there till 2:30 p.m.

After meeting the deserted parents, students realized that the best service to God is to serve the mankind, specially to those who have been betrayed by their own family members. The students had taken fruits, grocery and other utility items for these unfortunate victims of destiny who are compelled to live a lonely and deprived life because of the neglect of their own kith and kin. It was hard to believe that how can a son or daughter can forget all the sacrifices their parents have made for them. Students were speechless and tears were trickling down their cheeks as they listen to the painful tales of their personal experiences. It was only with tearful eyes and heavy hearts that students and faculty could bade them goodbye
