Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the International Professional Development Association (IPDA) India, under the patronage of IPDA UK and Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kaliningrad, Russia, successfully organized the Partap IPDA International Conference 2025 on March 1-2, 2025. The two-day conference brought together distinguished International and national academicians, researchers, and educationists to engage in meaningful discourse on “Bridging Theory and Practice to Transform Professional Learning.”

The conference was inaugurated with a warm welcome by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal of Partap College of Education and Secretary, IPDA India. She emphasizing on the significance of the conference in fostering academic collaboration and marking the Silver Jubilee of the institution. She also announced the extension of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kazan Federal University, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, and Moscow City University, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to global partnerships. Prof. Balwant Singh, Director, Partap College of Education & Chair, IPDA India, highlighted the conference’s objective of integrating theoretical foundations with practical applications to enhance professional learning. As an academic and community service feature of the institution an interactive relationship with Lions International has been established and this international event was also got full support from PMJF Lion Amritpal Singh Jandu, First Vice Distt. Governor and other members of Lions International Distt. 321- F, Lions club Ludhiana.

The keynote addresses included Prof. Aydar M. Kalimullin (Kazan Federal University, Russia) on Institutional Reform of Teacher Education in Russia, Prof. Anna O. Budarina (Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Russia) on Stereology of Modern Teaching & Learning: Indigenization vs. Internationalization Challenges, and Dr. Kseniia A. Degtiarenko (IKBFU, Russia) on Best Practices in Teacher Development. The seventh edition of the book “Professionalism in Education” was released during the plenary session of the conference.

The event featured four parallel technical sessions, including an exclusive online session for Russian delegates, where scholars presented research findings and engaged in insightful discussions. The conference was graced by the presence of Dr. Monu Singh Gurjar, Assistant Professor, Elementary Education, NCERT Delhi, and Dr. Jagdish Mishra, Retired Principal, M.D.P.G. College, Partapgarh (U.P.), who contributed valuable insights and engaged in meaningful discussions on teacher education and professional learning. The poster exhibition on the second day showcased innovative research contributions, with top entries recognized by an expert panel. Prof. Anna O. Budarina presented the Reflection and Resolution, summarizing the key discussions and outcomes. A feedback session provided valuable insights from national and international delegates. The programme concluded with a prestigious Award and Honour Ceremony, marking a significant moment of celebration for all participants.

The conference successfully fostered international academic collaboration and enriched professional learning, leaving a lasting impact on participants. Partap College of Education continues to be a leader in advancing teacher education and global partnerships.

Partap College of Education, Ludhiana has been successfully contributing in field of education for over twenty years and is exhibiting excellent results in M.Ed., B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. classes.   This year too, M.Ed. first semester students of the College outshine with their excellent performance in final examination. Jasleen Kaur bagged first position in college with 90.4% marks. Sakhshi Sharma and Anupriya Kaur bagged second and third position with 89.6% and 88.4% marks respectively. Director of the college, Prof. Balwant Singh and Principal, Dr Manpreet Kaur congratulated the students, teachers and their parents for the magnificent result. Dr Manpreet Kaur motivated the students and teachers to keep up tireless hard work and dedication in future too. She also told that admissions of new session of B.Ed. and M.Ed. are open and we are preparing to train more efficient teachers for the community.

International Professional development Association is an association that has been working for professional development of teachers since 1968. It has its six national associations and Partap College of Education established IPDA India in 2013 and it is head quarter of IPDA India.

The topic of the webinar is Professional Change and Resilience of Teacher Educators during COVID-19. The focus of the webinar is to elaborate the challenges for teacher educators during this testing time and the need to develop resilience as professionals.  The webinar commenced with welcome note by Ms. Alka Joshi, Assistant Prof. Ms. Pauline Smith, Chair, IPDA England welcomed and addressed the participants and appreciated the collaboration with IPDA India to conduct webinar.  She added such events supports the aims of IPDA UK.

Eminent Speakers of the webinar were Dr Balwant Singh, Chair, IPDA India and director, Partap College of Education, Ms. Karen Vincent, Senior Lecturer Early Childhood and Primary Initial Teacher Education, Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury, UK, Dr. Liz White, School of Education, University of Hertfordshire, UK and Ms. Victoria Research Associate, Institute of Psychology and Education, Kazan Federal University, Kazan, Russia.

Dr Balwant Singh spoke on ‘To move from change to resilience’ and supporting steps for teacher resilience. He emphasized on pedagogical changes and special operative procedures that every educational institution needs to follow.  Ms Karen highlighted the working in early years initial teacher education. She focused on educational philosophy that is required to be according to child’s needs. Dr Liz White expressed her views on working in partnership with primary and secondary schools. She added that new and experienced teachers need to work collaboratively for overall development. Victoria’s story was, effective transition to distance learning in times of change, choice and challenge. She asserted that time is vital resource for teachers and students, so it should be used efficiently.

In concluding session, Dr. Balwant Singh emphasised that teachers across the world need to work on self-resilience and internal locus of control to get out of pandemic shock and work fruitfully for the betterment of the society. He purposed a round table meeting among five countries that are Britain, Russia, Spain, Italy and India to present comparative situation of education system and provide suggestions to policy makers, society and mentors.

The webinar was attended by nearly 150 participants from different countries like England, Russia, Spain, Italy, Hongkong and India. Dr Manpreet Kaur, Principal, shed light on association with IPDA and purposed vote of thanks to all eminent speakers and participants.
