Prof. Balwant Singh, Director and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana participated in IX International Forum on Teacher Education 2023 organised under the patronage of Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Kazan Federal University, Russian Academy of Education on theme “Quality of Teacher Education Under Modern Challenges”  

Prof. Balwant Singh in his welcome speechacknowledged the significance of international events like IFTE in strengthening the professional relationship between both the countries and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that is signed between Partap College and Kazan Federal University, Russia.

In plenary session, Prof. Balwant Singh while presenting keynote address on “Role of Educational Leadership for Sustainable Development” he emphasised that education is the strongest instrument for any development or change in the world as it creates new researches, innovation and industrial revolution. So, education itself should be sustainable for its preservation, perpetuation and promotion. To implement educational policies effectively, a system needs a strong team of teachers with a high profiled educational leader having multifaceted qualities.

Dr Manpreet Kaur presented keynote address on “Being, Becoming and Belonging: Professional Identity of Teacher Educators”. She asserted that professional identity of teacher educators is complex as well as multifaceted and being, becoming and belonging are all essential components of this identity. As teacher educators, we must embrace our role as teachers of teachers, continually work to improve our skills and knowledge and collaborate with others to shape the future of education. She expressed that we all need to work together to create future where all students have access to high quality education and all teachers have the support and resources.

Prof. Balwant Singh and Dr Manpreet Kaur also represented India in symposium and presented their report on “Scenario of Teacher Education in India in the Light of National Education Policy 2020”. Asst. Professor of the college, Ms Balwinder Kaur presented research report on the topic “Teachers’ Professional Development for Sustainable Career” in SIG session on “Education in the global Context: Trajectories of Teacher Professional Development”.
